Security & privacy
A free, private tool that analyzes your Instagram and Threads export and shows who doesn't follow you back, who unfollowed, and who's new. All processing happens in your browser.
No. Files are processed right in your browser — nothing is uploaded to servers, and we don't store your lists or personal data. See our Privacy Policy.
No, never. The tool works with Meta's official data export — the safest way to analyze your follows. Never give your password to third-party services.
We never ask for your password and never act on your behalf, so we don't trigger "suspicious login" or automation blocks. Automated apps often lead to bans. Here everything stays under your control.
Yes. It uses your own official export and performs no automated actions, so you stay within Meta's rules. See our Terms of Use.
How it works
Upload your export archive (.zip or .json) — the tool analyzes it in your browser in a second and shows who doesn't follow back, who unfollowed, and new followers.
The tool compares your following list with your followers list from the official export and shows everyone you follow who doesn't follow you back.
Instagram doesn't keep an unfollow history, so the way to find out is to compare two exports from different dates. Upload your official export to Unfollow Checker — it checks your current data against a previously saved snapshot and shows everyone who unfollowed you. Everything runs locally in your browser, no password.
No — Instagram doesn't notify you about unfollows or keep a list of them. The only way to see who unfollowed you is to compare two data exports from different dates. That's exactly what Unfollow Checker does: safely, with no password and no third-party apps.
Yes. Unlike many tools, Unfollow Checker works with both Instagram and Threads — just upload the matching export.
The tool works with Meta’s official export. How to get it:
- Open export. In Threads: Settings → “Export your information”. Or in Instagram: Settings → Accounts Center → “Your information and permissions” → “Export your information”.
- Create a new export. You’ll see your past exports here. Tap “Create export” → choose a profile → “Export to device”.
- Set the options. Date range — All time; format — JSON; “Customize information” → select only: Your Instagram activity → Following, Threads, and Connections → Followers and following.
- Start the export. Tap “Start export”.
- Download the archive. You’ll get an email when the file is ready. To download — repeat step 1: a download link will appear on the same page.
Usually 1–10 minutes, up to an hour at most — it depends on your account size. You'll get an email with a link when it's ready.
Yes — just repeat the process with another account's export.
Yes. You can even add the site to your home screen for quick access.
Limits & the project
Yes, Instagram limits activity to prevent spam. It's recommended to unfollow no more than ~150 accounts per day, at a calm pace of ~10 per hour.
No. This is a deliberate choice to keep your account safe. The tool only shows the list — you decide whom to unfollow, manually in the Meta app.
The tool is completely free.
Snapshots and settings are saved locally in your browser so you can compare changes over time. You can clear them anytime with a button in the app.
